About my stance on Supernatural drama in fandom

I am first and foremost a Dean/Jensen fan and a Misha/Castiel fan. I detested what Jared did by calling Jensen out and not calming 'his' fans out on his social media before contacting Jensen, it caused enough drama and craziness among fans that were friends with each other that liked a certain actor. I actually lost a few friends cause of it but got one back. I fucking hate drama like that, we don't know the damn actors. Yes we LOVE them for what they do, yes some of us may of met them. Do we actually know them?

No, I doubt it maybe some fans actually might but lets be honest most of us don't and I highly doubt they remember most of us that pay up the yin yang to meet them for a few seconds for auto or photo, some fans are lucky if a celeb actually does. If you want to play games and hate on a actor just cause two actors had a fight or a misunderstanding without getting the facts instead of going to social media, then please do not add me. I am tired of toxic fandoms. Yes I followed what was going on and I saw that Jared apologized for posting it without contacting Jensen his 'friend' about it first, but the damage had already been done. If you don't like me after this section on my add me post, feel free to unfriend me. Were all allowed our own opinions. And if you want to ruin a good friendship with me over actors then fine so be it. I'm just tired of this drama the boys put behind them coming between fans. If they can make up and get along after a misunderstanding, guess what? We as adults should be able to as well.

So inconclusion. I'd love to add more Supernatural fans. I'm a fan of the show, I don't really care for most actors or actresses, yes I have my favorites. But I'm not totally obsessive over them and what goes on in their lives other then their next projects. I'm just a fan of their work, not their private lives. I don't mind if you are, just don't expect me to comment if you update about their lives that they post on social media, children and what not. I'll only mostly comment on posts you do about their work, artwork of them or pics you post of them.

Am I a Jared fan? No, not really to be honest. No disrespect of him and no it's not me being mean (been called that for not liking his stuff, low and behold I have a dislike of something huh?) or just being a Jensen fan. I've watched quite a bit of Jared's stuff, while I respect him for Supernatrual and his acting. It is not my cup of tea sort of speak, I have not found anything that I've watched that I actually liked of his. Closest I've come to is Gilmore Girls, but not for his acting, didn't care for his character much I liked the girls better. Though I need to continue on that show.

No this is not aimed at anyone on my list (Which is sad I have to put this, but yeah).

We can all agree and disagree and choose actors/actresses over friends you have had for a long while or short while. This post is also to not make anyone upset or angry. It's just me hashing out my views and feelings on the subject. I'm just glad I am finally out of the online main fandom though I still love the show and those who were in it.



For these reasons I am not into the Supernatural fandom anymore aside from the few friends I still have and making graphics for my comm, otherwise that is it. I'm tired of the drama.

If you are still here after that rant and okay and want to be my friend, then please by all means feel free to ask to add me. Though if you do hate Jensen cause of this, no doubt I probably will not add you. But feel free to ask, just to be sure. And again no this is not aimed at anyone on my list. I may even loose friends after this post. But if I make new friends that like SPN, I feel like I should post my views on it. It's been a while and should of done it before. Were all free to have our own opinions on the matter. But I hope to still keep the SPN friends that I have.

I see we feel the same way when it comes to being interested in the actors/actresses of shows/movies we like. I might occasionally get interested, but I'm far from invested. And I can probably count on one hand how many movies/shows I started specifically for an actor/actress.

Also, whenever I see Supernatural crop up somewhere I get wistful. I watched the first season when it first came out and I really liked it. For some reason I never got around to watching any of the subsequent seasons and I can't remember why. I probably jumped *genre* at the time and completely exchanged what shows/movies I was obsessing over at the time. I've had a cut like that at least once and I'm tempted to say there might have been another time.

I am rewatching Supernatural right now and have since found that I love Dean's character more and Jensen himself as an actor. I have seen Jared's projects more but I do honestly care for him as much as I thought I did. I do think Jared was one in the wrong for how he went to social media before going to Jensen himself. He should have kept it all off of social media in my opinion, but that is how I live my life, you have a problem with someone, you keep it to one on one private conversations. And as a celebrity, he should have said something to his fans about how they are acting towards someone he considers family. But I am sorry you are losing friends over this. this is not something you should be losing friends over. True friends stay through all your different opinions.

I'm with you about toxic fandoms. People should be allowed to like/have their favorite characters, actors, ships, and they should also have their dislikes of characters, actors, ships, etc.. That's what makes us all unique and have our personal interests.

I got into Supernatural late. I had two LJ friends tell me about it and then I forgot about it. Then I went to our Motor City Comic Con and saw all these people flocking, sitting in, and taking pictures of the Impala. We wondered what was the sudden interest and then I read it was from Supernatural the show I had forgotten about and knew the guy from Gilmore Girls was in it. So a few years ago I started watching it and I liked it. I'm currently on season 10. I didn't like season 9 with the whole Metatron storyline. I like they're back to hunting in season 10.
